Artist's Biography

Subhashini Yalamanchi

Subhashini immigrated to the US at the age of 25 from India with her husband.  She got her MB;BS degree from India, and while finishing her general pediatrics residency in Michigan had their three sons.   The family moved to New York then Florida while she worked for the State Government Health Department.   “Working in the Health Department made me feel grateful to God for giving me the chance to serve humanity.”

 

Now retired from the Florida State Health Department in Palm Beach County, Subhashini has time to spend on her new passions. She started lessons in Art, Indian classical dance, Ninja Martial Arts, Tai Chi, and organic gardening. Most of all she loves her time babysitting 2 lovely grandchildren and spending time with her lovely daughter-in-law.
 

Subhashini began her artistic journey by studying under numerous teachers since her retirement here in South Florida. While sharpening her drawing skills she has begun working with watercolors, acrylics, colored pencils, and pan pastels.   The Challenges of watercolor with its many techniques intrigues her as she continues her studies painting landscapes and birds.
